It had been quiet for the past few moons in Steele's packlands and he was feeling a bit restless. Oh sure there had been the squirrels to torment but there was only so many times you could play "hide the acorns" before it got truly boring. Plus they werent much of a challenge with their short attention span and even shorter memories. The others of his kind had gotten so use to him that they were starting to mistrust him even when he was being serious. Then again it was so rare for him to be serious that they had every right to be a bit suspicious. It wasnt like the rest of his pack didnt like them, actually he was a strong warrior who was very loyal to his pack, they just knew what to expect most of the time with him.
So now he was spending some time traveling through the territory looking for someone that might be a bit more interesting to even talk to than the nut brained tree mice that he had been dealing with lately. There had been no destination in mind as he padded along and happily growled an imitation of a local bird song to himself. Every so often he would stop to scratch at a rude flea or to sniff the area before continueing on until he came to The Bridge. Tilting his head to the side he gave a satisfied grumph and plopped down on his stomach.

Ruri glanced suspiciously at a lone wolf sitting in the middle of The Bridge. That was the areas name but there was really no bridge. It was a "bridge" between the two kingdoms where they could always meet peacefully. Still, she was suspicious about just one wolf sitting here.
Are there more? Is this an ambush? I hope not. We should fight in our time of need.
She growled softly to let the wolf know she was here. There is something funny about this wolf...
Even though she was suspicious, she greeted the wolf in her normal, friendly fashion. "Hello. I am the Queen of Ivory Kingdom. As you probably know, this is The Bridge. A place of peace. Even though you are of the Dusk Kingdom, no one can attack you here. Feel free to stay, but first I need your help. You need to tell your king that there is an emergency. I need to speak with him. Tell him he may come to my den when he pleases and none of my warriors will attack him. Rest for now, because you look tired. When you feel well enough, travel quickly."

Steele stood up quickly as he heard the growl from the female. Out of instinct he took a defensive stance with his ears held back and tail held level behind him. After all one doesn't get to live as a warrior, especially with a visible handicap, for any more than a moon cycle without such natural instincts. Yet when he heard the softness of the voice that spoke to him and that she seemed less threatening than he had expected he took a more relaxed stance. His tail swung lazily behind him as he gave a deep bow of respect. Steele hated to admit it but he hadn't heard anything, well, respectable about the Queen from those around him. Yet he assumed that her side hadn't heard nice things of him either. He chuckled to himself and puffed his chest out a bit before returning to his more casual posture. The thought that others outside his pack may have heard of him was humorous yet his pride still liked to ponder it.
"Greetings Queen." he said bowing again as he kept his eyes on her nose so as not to come across as aggressive, "While we are on different sides I will happily deliver your message to him. I wish I could guarantee his compliance but, well, as you can expect I can not speak his will." With a shrug he tilted his head a bit to get a better look at her while not seeming rude. A playful smirk came across his muzzle as various thoughts of "fun" came to his mind but he quickly decided that any such tricks on one in her position was a good way to be fed your own hindquarters, if not worse. After all even the greatest trickster had to know his own limits.

Ruri watched him carefully as he bowed deeply in respect for her. Something she hadn't expected. He seems right for a high position...."Thank you brave one. When your finished with your duty, we have medicine cats that could do wonders for your leg if you wish to accept the offer. Now go and run as fast as possible. This is no time to wander." ooc: Since my friend hasn't yet made her character, I will make the King for now. But I'm going to put a twist in it because you seem good at RPing.... (Hint: foreshadowing in the passage above) Sorry about It being so short. I'll make the character this afternoon, 5 ish central....

Steele couldn't help but show a look of surprise at her kind offer of medical assistance but he tried to hide this quickly. Even when speaking to a calm beast such as the Queen it was never a good idea to show any weakness in one's mental armor. Also he had to admit that the thought of actually having four good legs, well at least better than what he had at the moment, hadn't recently crossed his mind. Oh sure when he was younger and the other pups taunted him with words and fangs alike he had wished he was just like them. Yet such situations had made him stronger in his mind as he found ways to strike back with his wits. His fighting skills had improved as well during such times when he had come up against more brawny bullies. But it would be rude to voice such things and surely the Queen didn't care about his past.
"Thank you for your kind offer and I will have to think about that." he replied with a grin before turning around back to his own lands. He looked over his shoulder before heading off one last time and took once last look at the female. It seemed strange to think that at this meeting things were peaceful but at some other time, well one could never tell. Steele turned his attention back in the direction of the King's domain and headed as quickly as he could to carry the message.
((OOC: No worry about it being short...Im big on quality over quantity I guess. I will be on and off of here tonight as I have to make sure my daughter does her homework and takes her bath. Also thank you on the compliment on my RPing.))

Ruri gazed at Steele oddly as she watched him run over the horizon and out of site. I hope he is worthy enough for this task... I'm sure he is. I see more in him than he sees in himself.
When she knew for sure he was gone, she slowly turned, in a fashion as if many were watching and walked slowly in the direction of her den.
OOC: I don't know when I will be able to actually put up the king, i have projects to do and they are like all due monday so... I'll be back on as soon as possible.
