Steele was panting heavily by the time he had entered the Stone Cave area of the Dusk Kingdom. His mind had been racing alongside him as well as he had made his way here from The Bridge. What could possibly so urgent that it was so imperative that the King get the message so quickly? Was it something he needed to be concerned about? How would it effect his pack? Finally why did he bother worrying about such things? After all it was a warrior's task to simply do as he was told and not to worry about politics. Then again, he told himself, a true warrior could do serve his pack best if he were prepared ahead of time if something was in the air sort to speak. If he was honest with himself he would realize that he just had too much curiosity.
He tilted his head to the sky and took a deep breath. He thought he recognized the scent of the King nearby so he gave a loud but short howl in hopes of getting his attention. Then he lowered himself to the ground and waited as he caught his breath. Maybe he would see those medicine cats the Queen had spoke about and make his running a tad easier on himself. Well first things first. He would wait a moment to see if the King responded to his howl before continuing on his mission.

Thorin hobbled slowly towards Stone Cave. He was in severe pain and had come to see the medicine wolves here. He had to tell the medicine wolf that he what was going on. They had to understand. His heart had been aching in a sort of non-normal way for a while now, but being who he is, he pushed it away. As king he could not deal with such small problems. Now, it had turned into a very large problem. His legs were starting to stiffen up and his chest was burning with a pain that could not easily be solved by chewing on some leaves. His connection to the stars told him that he would be in the sky with them soon.... but he tried to push that out of his mind. He had more important things to do.
As he was walking, he heard a short howl followed by a rustling. He felt the weight of someone laying on the ground and put his ears back in a fighting stance but was not in a mood to fight. So he returned the howl and walked to where he had initially heard the noise. To weak to walk any longer, he plopped down beside a grayish wolf, hoping it would just kill him now and spare him the pain. He had already had thoughts about this before but tried not to think too hard about it for he still had to pass his crown down to someone and will no pups to speak of, for he had not found a mate that held up to his standards in his Kingdom, so the Dusk Kingdom would most likely go without a ruler. Knowing some of the vicious wolves in his kingdom he shuddered at the thought.
He was brought out of his thoughts by remembering he was sitting next to a wolf. "Hello Warrior. You sent for me?"
He stared hard at the grayish wolf after speaking and felt his energy draining. He kept his eyes on him though and tried to read his soul.....

Steele watched as the King made his way across the area as a strange feeling came across him like a wave. An aura seemed to hang around the leader, one that demanded respect while giving you a feeling of trust. The grey warrior didn't notice the hard time the other was having but focused instead on keeping his manners as he ran over proper etiquette in his mind. Unfortunately too often Steele had gone out of his way to play the "court jester" of the pack and hadn't been concerned on just who's paws he stepped or who's muzzle he mocked. To him it had all been a game or a learning experience, for his usually unwilling student, and he hadn't bothered to worry about manners. But, as with the Queen he had met, the wolf next to him made him feel different and he knew he had better be on his best behavior. No tricks, he told himself, just deliver the message.
When the King spoke Steele seemed to snap out of his own thoughts. "Greetings King Thorin. I have a message for you from the Queen of Light kingdom. Your royal presence is requested by her Ladyship as soon as possible." Wow that sounded too pompous even to Steele's own ears. He let out a heavy sigh and stood up. Behind him his tail hung limply and he started to walk away, after all his task was technically done, but after a couple steps he turned around to give it one more try. He bowed as he had with the Queen, kept his stance relaxed but suitable manner, and spoke once more.
"You see I met her at The Bridge and she asked me to ask you, wow that just doesn't sound right either, anyways it seems important and she wishes to speak to you right away." A slight grin came across his muzzle when he finished. Okay it wasn't his best speech of sorts but it was definitely better than his first attempt.

Thorin paused what seemed an hour to him after the gray warrior spoke. His head was swirling and thoughts were not as clear. Thorin had his life passing before his eyes. What to do, he did know though. "Thank you warrior. But I am afraid I will not be able to see her any time soon. I have a task for you, and I'm sorry to give it to you after you have come a long way but it must be done. See," He half smiled at the warrior, "I feel that I will join the stars soon, very soon." At that very moment his knees buckled and he fell in a heap on the ground. He was still conscious though. "I am dying. There is nothing you, or anyone can do. When, my soul is gone from my body please take my body to the queen. My body will be proof of what I say. Tell her that I grant you as my heir, since I have no kin. Tell her, no matter what she sees in you, that the stars have told me you will be a great leader. No matter what you think of yourself, you must take my place and rule the king dome. Hold meetings, have kin to follow your steps, and make a warriors of many young pups. This is your duty. With this duty, I give you the power to see into the past and to see what the stars wish you to see of the future. I have already felt that something ominous is happening as we speak. Be strong and you can help Dusk Kingdom overcome it all....." And with that, Thorin seemed to just leave his body and float up to the stars, feeling nothing as he passed away. Leaving behind a silvery light that had swirls of different colors in it, almost like the Northern lights. It was a little ball of light and it was floating right over the gray warrior. OOC: I told you i would do something awesome! Did you see that coming! Huh, Huh? Now you get to make a den for him and I will make a board for it. Just PM me the name and what description you want, if any.

Steele was speechless as he heard the words of the King, well at least he thought he heard him anyways. Surely the stong leader that he perceived the male next to him to be was no closer to death than he. It was the warriors' way to follow his leader blindly and to see them as flawless even at their most vulnerable times. Yet following his leader this time meant taking on responsibilities that he wasn't sure he could handle. His mouth hung agape as King Thorin continued speaking and all he could do was nod his head in obedience.
When the other male faltered to the ground Steele step forward a bit to help him back up but he stopped when he realized it could be seen as insulting. Instead he just leaned closer so the King wouldn't be forced to over exert himself. As he heard of the leader's short time left Steele couldn't help but give a small whimper as such a passing. The King had been more of a father figure than his own father had been and his heart ached as he continued to listen in silence. After all hadn't his own dear daddy considered Steele a waste of fur and bones while Thorin had seen his potential. It all seemed like yesterday when he had been taught his lessons with our pups. Yet here he was and he just wanted to pass this off to someone else. After all a jokester didn't run a kingdom. But he would do his best as that was all he could do.
He watched with deep sadness as the deceased King's soul joined the ancestors. A long howl escaped his howl and it sang of loss and sadness. As his song came to an end he changed the tune and made it one of triumph and strength. After all there was no suffering for Thorin anymore and his lessons would keep his kingdom strong for generations. At the end of his howl he braced himself mentally and physically to make the trip back to the Queen. Carefully and respectfully he picked up Thorin, placing him gently on his back, and began to head back to The Bridge.
OOC: Wow that wasn't what I expected but thank you for the honor = > Will PM you the info on Steele's den in a little bit. Also sorry about the length...seems I am a bit long winded tonight lol.
